Inspired by beautiful golden meadow days, buzzing with life and warmth. In the composition I have used rare/endangered wildlife including Chalk Blue butterflies, a white tailed bumble bee and a pair of Gold finches, all the work is reverse painted and gilded onto glass, creating a unique depth to the piece. The glass is multi gilded in 24kt gold leaf, silver leaf and copper leaf. I have created a slightly antique feel in the gilding of 24kt goldleaf as the grasses.

Each of Danni’s pieces are original, unique and produced by Danni from start finish here in her studio. Each piece is inked, painted and gilded on the reverse of toughened glass. After completion the piece is flipped over to reveal the artwork through the glass. This piece is framed in a bespoke 850mm x 500mm frame with 20mm slips between the layer of glass and white backboard, playing with the depth of perception and creating an almost 3D quality. The shadows can move and dance across the backboard when the piece is in natural light, like in a lovely bright room, but will look equally as good under spots or in any well lit space. Once evening comes the these pieces take on a whole new aspect as the metallic leaf radiates its own luminescence. .
