This piece has been painted in a rustic pallet of pigments; umber, sienna, ochre and contrasting whites and greys. The Thorns are gilded twice, in water and oil gild creating a light mirrored two tone affect the piece has been painted and distressed, and then a third brass gild has been applied.

‘Gilded Thorns’ Is gilded in moody distressed copper and brass.

Each of Danni’s pieces are original, unique and produced by Danni from start finish here in her studio. Each piece is painted and gilded onto the reverse of toughened glass. After completion the piece is flipped over to reveal the artwork through the glass, the glass has been mounted in a contemporary bespoke slim, black, ash frame.

This piece will make any interior space unique and once evening comes the piece will take on a whole new aspect as the metallic leaf radiates its own luminescence.
